Eight Seconds- Possible Ideas (General overview)
· The movie 8 seconds which is based around the life of PRCA bull riding champion Lane Frost has been criticized for its in accurate portrayal of the main character Lane Frost and his relationship with both his father Clyde Frost and his relationship with God. “Lane was a Christian. In the movie, this was not mentioned, to the dismay of his parents and Kellie. The Producers did not want God Brought into the movie.”[1] “Clyde Frost, Lane’s dad, is not like the father portrayed in the movie, according to one of lanes friends ‘if there was anyone proud of Lane, it was Clyde. Lane did not have to prove himself to Clyde; he had his approval from the start’.”[2]

· My initial ideas for this movie are to play around with the relationship between father and son and hopefully portray the relationship more accurately. As it played a critical part of the overall movie. Just thinking of a way to add excitement for other readers not usually interested in this topic.

ReplyDeleteI think your idea sounds really interesting. Researching the 'true story' would definitely give you something to work with and would give readers who are interested in this movie some insight. I haven't seen this movie before and do not know anything much about it so sorry I can't help too much but I think it sounds really good. However, I do not know whether or not you are required to include made up ideas of your own as well as opposed to facts. You may have to just check with Darryl. Hope that helps.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Natalie, it sounds like you've done some good research on your topic. Whats PRCA? Don't mean to offend, just wandering...You were saying this is also your passion, is that like rodeo's and stuff?? Do you know the Churchz family in N.Z Rodeo, if you'v seen them ride or know of them you could kind of base the storyline around that family and kind of make it New Zealander'ish' lol...just an idea..but i think you've already got this on lock.
